before executing the game: 1 - delete the compatdata (steam/common/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata) 2 - verify the game files (this will revert every graphical setting you have changed to default) 3 - enter the game.
If you are having the issue of "game exiting at mainmenu", you need to do this "everytime" you try to play this game, until an hotfix drops. Playing at default graphics is boring but this is the way i have found and works for me for some reason.
You can't change the graphic settings due to game's "restart to apply graphic settings" problem.
Gameplay is as same as the windows version.

Disregard my previous report, subsequent launches crash on the main menu without MSEdge WebView2 too.
Installed Microsoft Edge WebView2 into its Wineprefix.
As stated in my previous report, played one round and it was buttery smooth as if it was native.
I stated in my previous report that it was working perfectly on CachyOS's Proton. However, I was mistaken as the game abruptly crashed after some time and gave the same symptoms I experienced on Fedora. Installing Microsoft Edge WebView2 using Protontricks' "Run arbitrary executable" option did the trick, and now I can play the game normally again.

Played one round and it was buttery smooth as if it was native.
Never thought I would change distros just to get this game to work, but here I am having switched to CachyOS, using their own Proton, to get this to work. There are other reports that say installing Microsoft Edge WebView2 into existing Wineprefix does the trick, but I'm yet to test that suggestion. For now, CachyOS has things going smooth OOTB.
After 20th anniversary Update the Game crashes after startup!

After las update, the game crashes immediately after showing the home screen
It loads correctly, but it crashes (shuts it down) when showing the main screen of the game.

After the last update (20th anniversary) the game loads, but crashes immediately after showing the home screen

The game has plenty of vehicles, the different events makes the game even more fun, only drawback is the slight pay to win aspect of it
Installed WebView2 using ProtonTricks. Steps: ProtonTricks, Select Asphalt Legends, Select the default wine prefix, Run Arbitrary Executable and run WebView2 installer from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/?form=MA13LH&cs=4134690573#download, wait till it finish and run the game
If WebView2 isn't installed on the prefix, the game crashes after loading the menu and will refuse to run
Didn't encounter any lag spikes or weird roll back, the game did disconect me sometimes but they are counted with 1 hand
Without slight tinkering it's imposible to play, but after you install that 1 dependency you'll be able to play the game, upgrading the cars is sadly needed and almost imposible to do, as it's incredibly hard to achieve and some events require you to upgrade the car constantly to keep up. It's still lots of fun as the races themselves are pretty exciting, all be it for the wrong reasons, the car choises are nice and in this latest update they added some more, sound design could use a rework though, as most cars don't sound like the real deal or sound the same.
After Update to 20 Anniversary it chrashes! A reininstall solved the problem
Proton 8.0-5
Fix for the crash that happens lately due to use of new Webview2 in the game: Credits to https://steamcommunity.com/app/1815780/discussions/0/603036969475274926/
For those who don't have the game open on Linux, you must download this file: https://developer.microsoft.com/es-es/microsoft-edge/webview2/?form=MA13LH#download Fixed x64 version. Open Protontrick and select the game. Once the next window opens, select "select the default wine prefix" and accept. In the next window, select "Run an arbitrary executable (/exe./msi)" and look for the .exe you downloaded earlier. It will open and download the necessary files. When it finishes, close Protontrick. You can now start the game normally, and the best part is that the gray window can now be closed.

20th anniversary update causes the game to crash when it reaches the main menu.

Starts up but crashes on main menu
gamemoderun %command% -dx11
The latest update to the game causes crashes with the tinkering steps mentioned. It used to work just fine before. Right now, you can view the release notes upon launching the game (which lags really badly, by the way!) and that's it - It crashes when you reach the main menu.

Crash at "Connecting to server"
I see the main menu for a split-second, but then the game crashes. This has been an issue for several updates now. Changing Proton versions and using PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
launch argument did not work.
I was not able to get past the connection screen. I could not connect to the servers.

wouldnt recommend playing this version of the game right now. There arent many bugs, but the ones there literally softlocks due to web view
I can't log in through Gameloft club due to all web-based UI pop ups not working, so i had to log in through the id from my phone after i did the tutorial
Sometimes randomly crashes on the results screen of a race
All web view ui doesnt render and can soft lock you in the menu of the game

At the beginning of the game, sometimes a popup information screen appears. If any popup appears, no part of the screen can be clicked in such a case. I have to close the game and reopen it. After closing and reopening it, it is fixed and I can play without any problems.
I installed ProtonUp-Qt via Flatpak and added GE-Proton10-4 via it. However, it was not possible to use it without any problems in the standard Proton versions in Steam that I tried before GE-Proton10-4. If I remember correctly, the least problematic version was the Experimental version. After switching to GE-Proton10-4, only the popup bug at the opening remained. Apart from that, this usage scenario did not cause even the slightest problem.

no problem at all
you can use any Proton you like for this game
Works Great
Did not faced any issue playing multiplayer , worked without any issue

install,start & play!

some bugs on texture caused by my gpu incomplete vulkan support
works pretty well
perfect
Só clicar e jogar

All facets of this game (excluding Syndicate and Grand Prix events which haven't been tested at the current time) run with great graphics.
Texture flickering (Z-fighting) is visible within certain locations of at least one track from far away, but this bug is barely apparent.
The game runs fine without any apparent problems.

0 Problems

runs smooth
fps sometimes drop at the start of a round, pausing the game (ESC) and continue playing fixes it

I think it runs better with linux, X11 or Wayland, because there's no latency Acho que roda melhor no linux porque não percebo lags.

Game just shows a black screen with the asphalt cursor, and ubuntu asks me whether to force quit

due to performance degradation over time as explained before
It starts with 60fps and then over time it reduces over to 50fps, 40fps, 30fps, ... Just a simple restart makes it return back to 60fps, going back to the same level. see https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/7342
split screen works great
see github issue for more details https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/7342

Game runs like it's Native to Linux
It runs so well that unless you look at the system specs you would think this game had native support for Linux.

Bro, I was shocked by this. Most of the games are running smoother than Windows, if you have a Vulkan supported hardware.
%command% -vulkan
Surprisingly, it was better than my old Windows 10 machine.
Without %command% -vulkan, everything were rendering as dark objects on my Laptop since the last updates.

Out of the box, with Proton Experimental, everything works.

The game just stuck on loading screen
i don't know how to fix this issue

It works amazing out of the box. my controller T3 also works fantastic without any tinkering or configuration.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
First 4 times i tried to launch the game just keep crashing until it didnt
The game is capped at 60 fps(vsync off), its not good but its not a big of a issue, its really stable and the graphs and vfx are amazing, no sound problems. Other thing, as it seems this game uses a proprietery engine i couldnt find any launch arguments online for changing stuff like dx11 so -dx11 or -d3d11 dont work(my experience).

gamemoderun %command% -dx11
On My NVIDIA Card
It Is Not Opening On My Intel GPU
As a laptop user, I have dual graphics cards. While this game did not open on my integrated Intel graphics card (When I press Play, It just crashes), it opened without any problems on my dedicated NVIDIA graphics card.

Used to work fine and I had over eleven hours in it, but now for some reason it just closes whenever I try to open it.
I've tried different versions of proton (including GE-proton) and I've tried different launch options, but nothing works.

everything works very well and fine out of the box without any configuration
