DirectShow and WMP11 are needed to play movies.
Without these components, the opening movies work fine; however, the prologue and epilogue movies display an error dialog and cause the game to crash.
Transition movies freeze the game every second time they are played.
Install the aforementioned components using:
cd ~/.local/share/flatpak/exports/bin
com.github.Matoking.protontricks 1662840 -q directshow wmp11
Interacting with the top menu can be unreliable and may require switching focus away from and then back to the game window before in-game menus and other elements can be interacted with again.
This was tested on a hybrid Intel/NVIDIA laptop running Arch Linux on KDE Plasma 6.1 using Flatpak Steam, ProtonUp-Qt, and Protontricks.
Both Steam and the game were running on the NVIDIA dGPU, which was connected to an external monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440.
I didn’t test resolution or monitor switching.
I also tested using Proton Experimental and Proton 9.0-2.
Both ultimately required DirectShow and WMP11 components to be installed.
Without these components, the intro movies worked fine; however, the transition movies played with a black screen but with audio, and the prologue and epilogue movies were skipped.

install directshow and wmp9
Some text is small
In Steam Deck Desktop Mode with fullscreen, moving the mouse cursor to top menubar may cause the mouse click not working. Using Alt-Tab to switch to other windows and then switch back to the game can fix this problem.
When starting the game in Steam Deck Desktop Mode, it may pop up the error messages about saving, and game cannot save normally. It seems that the problem is related to Steam Deck system locale.
Install directshow and wmp9 to play OP

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Works great

I used the GE-version by default, didn't test the normal one.
If playing in fullscreen, you get a black screen upon opening it. If you hit ALT+F4, it prompts you to close and fixes the black screen, then you can just press no and play normally.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
on Launch Options
protontricks 1662840 wmp11
to play movies.
Fullscreen is not fully full if you went from Windowed to Fullscreen without restarting. Otherwise issue with Maximizing and moving between screens.
Use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% to avoid blank screen. Need Install wmp11. Everything is fine.
skip black screen at start
protontricks 1662840 -q wmp11
The cutscenes in the middle are implemented with video, and I don’t know why I can’t start the game with proton 5.x version (atleast in arch)
Works out of the box, with some windowing/fs issues and the usual movie issues.
Switching between window sizes in general can cause screen to turn black (mostly on current Proton Experimental).
Switching from fullscreen to windowed is fine, but the reverse cause screen to not be fully full and require restarting the game. In fullscreen, screen flickers whenever top menu appears.
Movies does not seem to play, as is usual. Most likely will require wmp11 installation.
Tested on Proton 6.3-6. Proton Experimental was more unstable with FS/Windowing/Resolution switching.
