I have custom keybinds on my desktop install which synced with the SteamDeck. This made the community layout unusable, but is quickly remedied by re-mapping affected keys.
Lowered graphics settings (not required) and limited fps to 30.
Game performance will drop if there are a lot of players or events on screen. Lowering graphics settings helps with this.

Install missing fonts:
flatpak run com.github.Matoking.protontricks 1284210 corefonts tahoma
Switch to GloriousEggroll; increase RAM and/or swap size.
The Steam Deck suffers from crashes that I haven't seen even on PCs with less, equal, or greater RAM.
Use GloriousEggroll, then using CryoUtilities:
- Increase the swap size to 16GB
- Increase the VRAM size to 4GB
This will virtually eliminate OOM crashes.

It's my own layout I use while playing melee.
Small lags due to massive amount of people in world eventa
Launcher lags and worse performance are non longer existing thanks to new GE.

For an MMO so focused on open world exploration, it just makes sense that it works so well on the Deck
The only problem is the launche runs at about 2fps. It's annoying but takes a second or two to get through it and on to the game.
Aside from the launcher window running really choppy, the rest of the game is smooth as hell. The battery life is REALLY long as well, I'm, seeing around 4 hours at 80%. The controls get some taking used to but once you figure it out, it's absolutely perfect.

can play instantly after installing the game, only need to setup the controller or use community layout
use community control ABXY
TDP limit 11w - fps capped to 40fps
framedrop on big meta event which normal, and still playable
smooth experience overall

Added F
interaction key to the Left Trackpad radial menu
Lowered thermal power setting to 8 watts
Guild Wars 2 Launcher has performance problems, initial low fps until game actually starts
Guild Wars 2 pretty much installs and runs out of the box okay. Valve should rate this as 'playable' imo.
Two things to note:

is only needed if you're using an external gw2 account that's not associated with Steam.- when launching the game, if you have thermal power lowered to save battery I recommend not going lower than 8 watts. The problem is if it's set too low the launcher ends up running really slow with low fps. It can even completely hang the Steck Deck while the launcher is just stuck on initializing. Once in-game though you can lower it further if you want.
- Still notice occasional infrequent crash when quitting game. I don't notice any other adverse affects though so not a big deal -- can be ignored.
setting proton 8.0, using a community control layout, and using a keyboard and mouse when in the character creation screen are NECESSARY
my steamdeck HATES running wifi and bluetooth at the same time. connecting a bluetooth mouse or keyboard makes you lag so hard wifi wise that the game kicks you from your party and requires a restart to fix it. this may be specific to my unit, as i need bluetooth off to get good wifi strength even out of any game.
launcher on rare occasions doesn't launch when you start the game, requiring a force quit and restart of the game.
very very rarely all entities on screen will freeze for a second in congested areas such as majour boss events, but ti's so rare it took me a month to notice.
without the afformentioned changes, the game is unplayable, but once you do those the game runs on like medium high settings with little lag or issues.

Works out of the box. Mainly here to warn against enabling manual GPU clock control in gamescope for this game. At 200 GPU clock frequency, the game hangs when launching the launcher (stuck on "Initializing"). Enabling the GPU clock control in game will not cause game to crash, but once you exit out you cannot get back in. If you are stuck by this (like me), disable wifi and launch the game, where you will be able to change the setting, as the game will not be able to check update and thus won't launch the launcher.

Framerate capped at 40 fps, GPU Thermal Power Limit of 15 watts
I used the Portal Provider launch option to access the non-Steam Guild Wars 2 Launcher.
Text is small, but can be adjusted in game.
I used one of the communiy control layouts which used an action camera. It was good, but because your key binds are saved at the server changing key binds for Steamdeck will change your key binds for the PC too! Once I realised this I set my keybinds back to what I liked and tweaked the community layout instead.
Also, for the best experience on the Steam deck I recommend usingthe action camera.
Guild Wars 2 Launcher
set to 40 FPS
It had a hard crash and completely nuked my microsd card. HIGHLY encourage to install on microsd instead of internal SSD for this reason alone. My microsd card was unusable and was not able to reformat in other computers as it was set to RAW. Just be weary with this one.
Set to 40 FPS and adjust some graphical settings. Be mindful of the crashes you will see as it did nuke one of my microsd cards
changed movement to stive and touch right stick act as left click whst enable rotation of mouse
40fps lock
slow with low fps but able to navigate
Game settings to Low, 40 FPS cap
The initial scale of the game is small, but in the game's menu you can adjust the scale of the UI which completely resolves this problem.
This game runs well, but does not have any native controller support. You will need to create a Steam Input configuration or use a community profile. It's worth pointing out that this game has an action camera that can be toggled. This greatly enhances playing the game on the Steam Deck. The UI in the game is scalable, so you can enlarge the menus and text through the in-game settings if needed. There is an initial launcher, but once you've logged in for the first time you can enable auto-login. The launcher still pops up, but goes away on it's own and then takes you into the game. It is recommended to bind the mouse to the right trackpad for menu navigation and to move around content in your inventory. The game feels great at 40 fps which is the sweet spot for a good ratio of performance and battery life on the Deck.
40hz, 11W TDP limit, ~3hrs
First launch must be from desktop mode to log in to ArenaNet, future launches from Game Mode work ok
Lots of relatively small fonts across the board: item descriptions, quests, etc
Changed in-game bindings as per instructions
I've played through the first mission with the vanilla controls and wasn't quite comfortable with those. The community layouts have great ideas. I'm sure that GW2 will come along on the Steam Deck, if the developers put in the effort.

I heavily customized the layout to fit all the necessary actions for an MMO. This included activatable gyro aiming, radial menu for in game menus, touch menu for mounts, a second action layer activated by holding down a back grip button, customized mouse/camera movement, and more.
Locked framerate at 30 fps.
Noticeable fps loss during big events or areas with lots of players/effects. Noticeable input lag with game mode fps cap. Leave fps cap as unlimited in SteamOS and use in game fps limit to avoid additional input lag.
Game crashed a couple times, but they were rare over long play times.
Average ping was higher than expected compared to my desktop PC on the same wifi network. Ping was usually 60-70 ms but would occaisionally spike to 150 ms on the Steam Deck.
I copied the game files from my Windows PC, added as non-steam game, and forced Proton GE. No installation necessary. Game launcher updates and patches with no issues. Keep files on SSD to avoid long load times. Average 30-40 fps with medium settings. I switched to mostly low settings because of performance drops during big events. About 2.5h battery life when not much going on and under 2h with constant action (farming drizzlewood).

Renamed the installer file to GW2-64.exe and selected that file as a non-Steam game.
Used left trackpad as a quickselect wheel, various action sets
Limit to 30fps
In-Game Control scheme gets auto synced between PC and Steam Deck which is slightly annoying
Performance is pretty reasonable on medium settings, usually 30+FPS except in very busy situations.
