VKD3D_VULKAN_DEVICE=0 %command%
For a while I wasn't able to play this game! Usual __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD and co didn't help.
Game didn't launch at all under Xorg and only on iGPU on wayland session. It was lot of frustartion and googleing, and finally I've found hint on github of VKD3D. It turns out vkd3d is for DX 12 and all hints tweaks related to dxvk won't work, as it is only for DX 9-11!!!
So what you have to do is set up following launch options:
VKD3D_VULKAN_DEVICE=0 %command%
But you need to check what number is assigned to your GPU by system. In my case it's 0
.
Easiest way to check it is using nvtop
but If you don't have it on your system (install it then, lol, how do you live without it?) -- you can use:
vulkaninfo | less
But you'll have to scroll a lot to find GPU id.
Or you might want to try different numbers startring from 0.

Game no longer works on laptops with two GPUs
tried differeent version of Proton. tried following config : __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only %command%
For month I can't launch the game now.
It hangs on loading. Screen isn'nt refreshing. I just see ghot image of my deskop. but not clickable.
By look of it -- it tries to run on integrated GPU, consumes all VRAM, but can't render a thing.
Ussual way to force nvidia gpu didn't work for me.
It's palyable on steam deck, but I don't want to play on gamepad in such game.

Works nice, but no longer able to select iGPU by itself
Few months ago I was able to laucnh game without any options and it was launched on dGPU automatically. Now I need to add flags.
__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only %command%
Also if launched from iGPU -- it shows black screen, but i can hear game sounds.

Easy Anti-Cheat settings have been changed and now the game no longer works on Linux
My config is the exact same as it was a couple of months ago when I was actively playing the game regularly before taking a break to focus on other things. Seems with the recent big update they've changed their EAC version/config/etc and now the game just doesn't work on Linux.

C++ Runtime Errors.
Tried swapping Proton versions around, no dice.

Works just fine
I previusly had issue, game crashed. But re isntalling game resolved everithing. (game update applyd incorrectly). Re check game files resolved the issue.

Game crashes on launch with showing MessageBox with error. Can't even get to loading screen.

It worked just fine few monthes ago. I belive it's new incompatibility introduced by new code from developers.

The game crashed on started with the error: "vkCreateComputePipeline".
The error only started after the on the 15 of august 2023
Game Crash in loading screen. Every time at 95%
Was perfect until patch 1.2.0. Still runs great tho.
Textures sometimes randomly pop in and out. And only on some surfaces. Very infrequent. happened on Ubuntu as well as in Arch.
Since patch 1.2.0 released, I've had 2 hard crashes. Both times were in a loading screen at about 40% done. I had to kill the game and terminate steam. These two crashes happened within approx 3 hours of game time.
Crashes haven't made the game unplayable and are far less frequent than the crashes I was getting on my windows 11 boot prior to the patch. (haven't tested it on windows since 1.2.0).
Great game, with tight controls, haven't tried coop, but 20 hours of building and raiding and evaiding... great out of the box.
Very very rarely (1 in 100 runs) the game might crash randomly when entering a map. It's totally a non-issue. But it happened to me twice in 20+ hours. So it happened. Non issue.
Super rad game, runs great out of the box, only thing I haven't checked is co-op raiding. Cheers!
Minor grafical glitches here and there, don't know if they exits on Windows. Issue with green bar on bottom of video definitely wasn't.
- Vidoe clips paly wierdly (like video intro you get before tutorial). I see green bar on bottom of a screen. If I don't use Proton Experimental, then whole video is just WHITE. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2964051759 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2964051753
- Some meshes of walls sometimes flicker. Like whole cube disapears for fractiopn of a second and you can see through it. And this is regular wall, not Holocube.
It's palyable, with tweaks. And really enjoable. Anticheat starts faster then on Windows on same machine!
Runs as expected, no notes
EAC runs correctly without any tweaks, so all game functionality is available.
Absolutely perfect
A flawless experience on Linux. No tinkering required, just download and play. Zero issues whatsoever.
Stürzt direkt ab.
Das Spiel taucht nicht mal für eine Sekunde auf.
Runs smoothly
Tested in solo, coop and base bulidng Only issue so far where some framedrops on a map where an animated prop was spamed on every surface avilable.

Not sure if it was a beta problem, or a proton issue, but there is minor artifacting when glass blocks are near eachother at a distance and graphical errors when skipping ahead or backwards in the replay terminal. Will be submitting the issue in the survey to make sure it is noted.
Multiplayer works great, but there may be a bug with reviving a coop partner. It seems the icon for reviving might not appear exactly where it is supposed to be to activate it. All in all not a major issue atm, just moving around the area the revive icon is in will give you the prompt to hold F, but will be submitting that in the survey if able.
I have not tested with the other versions of proton besides GE 7-43
