The game works but you need to use Proton 7 to make it work properly.
The font size is too large than normal, making in-game dialogues unreadable during cutscenes and sometimes during gameplay
If you want to play this game, use Proton 7, in newer versions of Proton the game font is too large compared to windows and this can make it difficult to read the text during cutscenes and gameplay.

No Problems; Controller Config Required
As of the most recent version of Proton, no issues with the game itself. Gamepad usage requires Steam Input to be Enabled.
Controllers may malfunction with incorrect buttons, have permanently pressed inputs, or not function at all if Steam Input isn't enabled in Steam's settings for the game itself, and Steam's General Settings for your controller type are not enabled. This can all be accomplished in Steam menus, no tinkering required.
Works flawlessly as of Proton 5.13-2
Not confirmed by others yet, but I think Proton 5.13-x fixed any gamepad issues this game exhibited in earlier Proton versions mentioned in other reports.
The game is fast paced and fun to play. People who like side scrollers and anime will surely like it
It was like Gamepad was pressed permanently
Important notes:
I had to do the following Workaround: edit `${USER}/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/LUMINOUS AVENGER iX/win/save/gv_config.ini` and set the gamepad buttons to mostly zero. Especially the analog section is important
``` [AnalogCalibration] LStickUp=0,0,0 LStickDown=0,0,0 LStickRight=0,0,0 LStickLeft=0,0,0 RStickUp=0,0,0 RStickDown=0,0,0 RStickRight=0,0,0 RStickLeft=0,0,0
```
then us a tool like AntiMicro to map the gamepad keys to your keyboard keys . This works fine
Had to use Proton 5.0.0 or else game won't start
TL;DR:
- Edit `${USER}/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/LUMINOUS AVENGER iX/win/save/gv_config.ini and set most entries for gamepad mappings to 0.
- Use a tool like AntiMicro -Use Proton 5.0.0

Game works well, however you are unable to use a controller properly. Keyboard controls are fine. Fonts do not match with Windows, causing some text to overflow out of text boxes.

Game works perfectly; fonts do not match with Windows, causing some text to overflow out of text boxes.

Fonts are missing and will be represented as empty squares, although it's very easy to fix - install allfonts via winetricks (I also installed corefonts although I don't think that was necessary). Additionally, controller support is iffy, the best workaround is to disable the d-pad and left stick and remap them to keyboard arrow keys using Steam Input. Once you do that, the game runs absolutely flawlessly.
