Works perfectly fine
The menu is loaded normally, after loading the save(or the beginning of a new game) - black screen and sound is only heard.
Worked great after forcing WineD3D, turning off Steam Overlay, and enabling the 360p option.
Black screen when using DXVK
Will sometimes see artifacts when switching between rooms or menus. Disabling the Steam Overlay corrected this. The game window will also flicker entirely, showing the desktop. Setting the 360p game setting fixes this.
The game will sometimes crash when loading a save. Usually works on the 2nd try.
The occasional graphical artifacts made the game frustrating to play, and not worth dealing with IMO.
Game window would be black with DXVK.
After transitioning between rooms/menus, the screen will sometimes start flickering. Repeating this fixes it.
After saving a game and quitting, pressing the "continue" menu button resulted in a crash. Manually selecting the save worked fine.
As others mentioned, the opening cutscene is problematic, and caused my game to crash entirely. Holding down a button to skip it seems to work fine.
Some flashing when moving between rooms where you could see parts of the OS desktop. I toggled the in-game options that forces 360p this stopped the flashing for me.
I had mixed results with my DS4 Controller. Originally it did not work but after toggling DS4 support off/on in steam it started working however I found it a tiny bit laggy. This may not be the game, could be my Bluetooth but its worth mentioning. There was an instance when I left the game idle and then the controller would not reconnect.
After comparing to my windows install I believe there may be slight input lag when using a controller.
The screen tearing I mentioned in my previous submission I think is not isolated to the game itself and should be ignored.
Some screen tearing when moving vertically. Some desktop flashing when moving between rooms
No joy using DS4 controller via bluetooth
Game launched to a static black screen on proton 5.0-6. once I rollback to 4.11-13 the game ran correctly. I was able to watch the intro cutscene unlike others.
if you enjoy metroidvania games you will like this.
once you select the slot to save...you need to hold down any button for more than 2 seconds...this will bypass the movie for some reason under proton you are unable to play it. Thx to developer for providing that tip
game worked out of the box unsure how well it would work on a SC since I have an xbox one controller.

Works reasonably well. When you first start a new game, you will not get the intro cinematic and will need to hold down A or mouse 1 (or ?enter) to skip it. In addition, you should disable the steam overlay as if you accidently open it, it will screw up the game graphics (inverts the window diagonally). Furthermore the game briefly flashes the underlying OS windows when moving between rooms. Lastly, I'm not sure if this is a game or proton issue, but using the dpad on a xbox controller results in strange behaviours. e.g. d-pad down = enter. Other than those issues, the game works great (at least from a technical perspective)
