Used Steam Deck built in controls as controller 1 and a bluetooth XBox One controller as controller 2 with zero issues.
I didn't change power settings but this game likely has plenty of headroom to reduce power consumption.
After selecting the correct Proton version and clicking play in the launcher, The game runs exceptionally
3 Watt TDP GPU clock 200 Game still achieved consistant 60 FPS with these settings
Game starts with a settings/configuration launcher. Settings can be adjusted with the touchscreen, despite their malformed appearance. Play can be selected with the touchscreen. Launcher stays open when game is exited. Pressing the STEAM button and selecting "Exit game" will close this.
This also has a workaround if desired. Enter desktop mode and browse local files. Open the 'settings' folder. Rename the file "settings.exe" as "settings.exe.backup". Then create a new link to file or directory from the application menu (right click). create a link to "/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/VelocityUltra/game.exe" and name the new link "settings.exe". This will bypass the launcher entirely and the game will exit properly when selecting "exit" from the main menu
