Other posts on here suggested installing the following 3 packages with protontricks: quartz_feb2010 wmp11 qasf however, these weren't enough in my case. Movies would play in a separate "ActiveMovie Window" popup which caused the game to not be able to function correctly. You could reach the main menu, but would get stuck in a loop trying to start a new game, as the video would keep lopping and you couldn't see or use the in-game interface. The additional packages wsh57 and gdiplus resolved the ActiveMovie Window issue.

With this, the game works fine for me without any launch options. However, as others suggested, you could try using gamescope for upscaling. If you choose to do so, you'll need to be using the native version of Steam, rather than the one on flatpak, as otherwise the game won't launch.
