Native version wouldn't launch at all. Using Proton, Vulkan only shows the HUD and none of the game. The game works fine under Proton using OpenGL.
Runs great in proton, avoid the native version
I had trouble getting the native version to run, but when I did it ran fine. The only issue was that I could see graphics outside of what I was supposed to see on my ultrawide monitor. The Proton version didn't have this problem. After I played the native version, I couldn't get it to run again. The game uses Unity for saving your game data on Linux and the registry on Windows. This meant that I was unable to transfer my savegame from the native version to Proton, requiring me to start my whole game over. Luckily the game is pretty short.
Crashes on startup every time.
I popped into the discord before I bought the game asking about Steam deck support and they said it runs fine, someone on Steam says it runs too. I'm not sure why it would run there and not here when it should be basically the same. Here's the error message.

- Install protontricks
- Run protontricks --gui
- Select Super Mega Zero (ignore all errors and warnings from here on out)
- Select "Install an application"
- Cancel out of that menu
- Select "Install a Windows DLL or component"
- Install vcrun2019
- Click next and finish on the Visual C++ runtime installations.
- Finally exit out of protontricks and run the game through steam normally.
The game runs fine on steam deck by default, but not on Linux proper. The game seems cool and I haven't really played it yet.
I was unable to beat the game because of an invisible wall at the very end. Some doorways would stop me from passing until I jumped through them, I think this is what happened at the end where you have to crawl through a spot so I was unable to jump and progress.
Mostly works but a little buggy.
