I managed to install it for the second time because the Rockstar Game Launcher froze in the middle of installation.

If the vkd3d-proton DLL issues are fixed, the game can be enjoyed without any workarounds.

Sometimes small black squares appear on the screen, but they are not distracting.
Significant Bugs:
Out of the box, it doesn't work with an AMD GPU.

Download the ZIP file from here: https://github.com/HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton/actions/runs/13587216195 (vkd3d-proton-merge-c54afb39ef5164945d2a4881d6edfd41604cc836)
Then, copy the two DLL files from the x64 folder inside the ZIP file to the game's directory: ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RoadCraft Demo/root/bin/pc/
Without these DLLs, the game crashes immediately after the map loads.
