FPS 30-40 when text displayed on screen
Unfortunately, the proton build supplied via the Steam application does not have the Wine-fix enabled, that fixes the wrong in-game font being used, which, when displayed reduces framerate to 40s.
Online its even worse, since its more demanding, your framerate is about 20 which is unacceptable. Some have suggested building proton oneself, but since Wines Virtual Desktop support became broken after 5.13, you have to use 5.0 for triple screening. And good luck trying to build Proton 5.0 that isnt even supported anymore. Ive tried, and its impossible to build. Ive also tried Eggrolls Proton 5.0, and it doesnt launch the game. If anyone has a built binary of this version with the AC fix enabled, let me know!
So, sadly, no triple screen racing with high FPS (I get 300+ with no text displayed) or online.
I installed after latest update, and game wouldnt boot. Glourieus eggroll and Patches-thing didnt work. I tried TechBanes solution below, the whole 2.5 hours and that didnt work. I then set steam to use proton 5.0-10 and did these steps: I used pipx to upgrade protontricks to 1.44, and with the --gui version (important) installed dotnet48 (which took a while) and finally the game booted, and played. There might be slight performance regression, but Im unsure.
E Anti Cheat software prevents game from booting
I discussed this game on discord with Glorious Eggroll, subscribe to his patreon, and he had tested the game a few weeks ago and states that its E Anti Cheat software that fails starting up properly which in turn prevents this game from booting.
Do not spend the money on Steam to "test" this game, because Steam will deny your refund, claiming that you're "abusing" the refund policy.
New Logitech Wheel driver: lg4ff also: +fullproc in launch settings in Steam
Install with proton 6.3-7 add the +fullproc in Steam in Launch settings, and visit berarmas' github for the lg4ff new Logitech driver. Clone the repo, enter the directory. Build and install the module (manual instructions). Load the driver and in-game force feedback works now as well.
