gamemoderun %command%
Some unimportant stuff (preview the plane and some others) in the menu were not bound to any key. (might also be because of my keyboard but I'm not using windows so I can't try)
No issues whatsoever.
How to get it running:
- Install
- Launch
- Profit
Works out of the box if you only want to play campaign. (scx_lavd required for multiplayer)
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Multiplayer was not playable without using scx_lavd (requires kernel >= 6.12) because of very frequent freezes for half a second or so.
Did not start with steam-native.
Using steam-runtime fixed it.
No other problems.
SteamDeck=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Since adding the env var lets you play the game they likely messed some detection in the anti cheat up which will probably be fixed. Regardless: It's annoying that it's not a "works out of the box" experience any more (until they fix it).
gamemoderun %command%
Game did not launch prior to changing the Proton verion to 7.0-6
gamemoderun %command%
The game may crash before you see the main menu (or even see a window) and does so more often than not. (might take a few tries)
Played with a friend who's on windows and he couldn't join my game. (infinite loading screen)
Wasn't a major issue because I was able to join him.
Might not even be a linux issue but we didn't troubleshoot.
gamemoderun %command% --launcher-skip
When starting the game I didn't even get a window no matter the launch options or config file changes.
To get the game to work I had to downgrade to Patch 1.32 by switching from "None
" to "clssic
" in Properties
>
Betas
of the Game and letting the game update.
After the downgrade I selected DX11 in the launcher started the game once to confirm that it works and upgraded again by choosing "None
" in Betas.
Now the game runs as expected, even when selecting DX12 in the launcher, so it seems like starting the launcher from the "classic
" Beta did the trick.
My launch options aren't required, but there isn't an option for "Beta participation" when choosing tinker steps.
