During multiple of the story-dialogs the game started to not react to any input. Had to restart the game and after that it mostly worked but occasionally it decided to not react to any input just two or three dialog boxes after the previous lockup. Tested both the native version and Proton-runtime.
If you decide to play it on the Steam Deck it's recommended to change the displayed buttons in the options to see which key you have to press. It's also recommended to keep a save right before fulfilling a task to lower the annoyance of the lockups.
Works out of the box on Steam Deck
The video sequences load without problems and even crowded places like Rabanastre's bazaar or environments with some weather effects (Paramina Rift or Feywood) worked without any visible graphical glitches.
When installing the game defaults to the Windows/Proton-version but I switched to the Linux native-version. As runtime I chose the most current one "Steam Linux Runtime - Sniper". Both versions run the same, though, so it's just a matter of preference.
Besides the movies game works out of the box
No video for the in-game movies. Movies must be disabled in the settings (Settings > Sound > Movie Skip-tickbox) to make it past the opening movie (about 5 minutes into the game) otherwise one can only see a black screen even if opening movie is finished. Afterwards, Movie Skip-tickbox can be unchecked again.
For some characters and outfits not all textures are displayed correctly in-game and during the cutscenes/dialogs. This mostly applies to textures for the stockings (they are replaced by some grayish textures with green fragments) but also some other textures don't load properly.
It shouldn't be surprising as the game isn't graphically demanding but the deck can run it at 60 fps without any problems.
The game's primary font for text display (Consolas) isn't included in Proton by default. Right after beginning the story an error dialog pops up mentioning this. You have to manually select one of the other fonts that's installed in the Proton-prefix for the game while being in the game's settings dialog.
