On Steamdeck:
After installation, edit the cm3.ini file in the game folder with a text editor and remove the last line. This prevents a crash on startup
Start the game to see the title screen. Then enter the in-game settings by clicking the gear icon at the top. In the Window that appears, change "Fullscreen Mode" from "Fullscreen" to "Full Windowed" to prevent a crash during gameplay.
If you experience a crash in the title screen, disable Wi-Fi by enabling airplane mode and start the game again.
Works great on Steamdeck with a little tinkering.
Gfx glitches in-game with Proton 6 and newer (glitchy squares everywhere). Runs perfect with Compatibility -> Force Proton 5.13-6
Turned Vsync ON in game options and turned Frame Limiter to 60 fps in Steamdeck Quickmenu
Need to force Proton 5.13-6 on Steamdeck to make it work perfectly. With newer proton versions past 5.13-6, there are graphics glitches that show up as little squares all over the screen during gamaplay.
Using Proton-GE is needed to fix gamepad controls, otherwise the game only recognizes keyboard. The button glyphs are also correct with Proton-GE. The game plays great with Proton-GE on Steamdeck.
It used to not show video sequences, but with GE-Proton8-1 it works great now, including the videos.
With GE-Proton8-1 it shows all videos correctly.
The default native Linux installation has no sound. Enabling the compatibility option "Proton Experimental" forces the Windows version to be installed which works correctly.
To remove pixel shimmering (uneven, distorted pixels) on Steamdeck, go to the game's options and select Display: Windowed and Size: 960x540. Now the pixels will be perfectly shaped without distortion.
Changed controls in menu from mouse and keyboard to Xbox360 gamepad to play on Steamdeck.
To eliminate graphical artifacts (pink and white squares and lines) in game, I had to set Compatibility Options to Proton 5.13-6. The black screen on startup can be skipped with "enter" or A button. To enable Steamdeck controls in game, I had to open the game's options and change gameplay->configuration from "Keyboard and Mouse" to "Xbox360 Controller".
