I succesfully run the game both on Desktop and Gaming mode follwing the procedure from here:
https://www.gamepretty.com/assetto-corsa-how-to-play-on-linux-proton-steam-deck/
Strictly follow the steps described on that page, additional notes on these steps:
1 - protontricks --no-background-wineserver 244210 winxp -> wen protontricks (in a window) ask you which version of windows select winxp
13 - protontricks --no-background-wineserver 244210 win7 -> wen protontricks (in a window) ask you which version of windows select win7
25 - protontricks --no-background-wineserver 244210 -q vcrun2015 -> wen protontricks (in a window) ask you which version of windows select win7
29 - protontricks --no-background-wineserver 244210 win10 -> wen protontricks (in a window) ask you which version of windows select win10
these do the trick, choosing the wrong win version in the window bring to a failure
The game is perfectly working between 50-60 fps. Text is somewhat not readable but tinkering with resolution may help (set a higher resolution then Steam Deck screen resolution so the game render higher and let the system, not the game, do the downscale. Worked for me on Cyberpunk...obviously you have to sacrifice more or less 10 fps)
Controller works but I still have to find a perfect match for my taste, will work on it.
The game demo (you can expect the same behaviour from the complete game) works flawlessy once switched to experimental proton.
Lowered resolution to 1152x720 + FSR to achieve stable 40 fps at medium quality graphic
Tried the demo, since the game is not yet published. Works flowlessy. When you get the demo from Steam it download only few kb. Force proton to experimental and it will download some GB of the demo, then will start without problems.
