Just follow the tutorial. It runs perfectlly! I tried other ways but there was always something that didn't work.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 mangohud %command%
In single player everything was/is fine with over 100fps. However going into online and I only had 12 - 29 fps, with extrem stutters.
The issue was solved after a 1GB Shader-Pre-Caching-Update and it now works perfectly in online with 60fps capped, default graphic settings, 100% gpu usage
See my other notes
NVAPI is required to use Nvidia DLSS/Amd FSS
The server list was empty, but my friend who uses Windows had the same problem and a lot of other people too. Seems like the game server are down
Sometimes, when a lot of explosions happen at the same time, its a very deep sound.
180 fps in benchmark, but only 4gb of vram. I need to use the lowest textures, etc. Game uses up to 3600mb of vram.
R*'s servers are bad, not a linux problem
Installation: Download the Rockstar Games Launcher and add it as a non-steam game. Force it to use experimental (at the time of writing, it's 8.0-102). Launch, and installe the launcher. After installation, close the launcher and change the exe/path to launcher.exe. Run, install GTAV and enjoy the game!
VRAM usage is higher than the game says it will be, so keep an eye on it, otherwise you'll have 3 fps. Online works perfectly. I always play it with my friends.
I installed vcrun2022
The game didn't support my Logitech G29
I added the game to steam as a non-steam game. I installed vcrun2022
via protontricks, shouldn't be necessary if installed via steam. The game doesn't support my Logitech G29 and playing on the keyboard is a pain. I uninstalled it after failing in the first head-to-head race. Playing thin with a keyboard is just terrible.
Works perfectly out of the box
Forced SteamPlay to use the "Steam Linux Runtime"
Graphics: Everything set to epic
FPS: 140 - 190, average about 160, no fps drops.
