The game ran flawlessly on the Steam Deck, was able to clear the whole game with no issues.
While I did remap the controls to use the mouse functions via the trackpad this is not necessary if you don't want to, as the game does have controller support. Would recommend it though since mouse movement is much better.
One thing of note is that this game does not support Steam Cloud so all save data here is local and will not be backed up and synced across devices. It's not a huge deal due to the nature of the game, but it's something to keep in mind.
When playing this game I encountered no issues of any kind. The game performed so smoothly and well I am convinced people could play this without even being aware it isn't natively running on the hardware. This game is perfect on Steam Deck, it's not even necessary to change button layout, something many games often require.
The Unity config screen initially was not showing in game mode. Though it did appear and start working when I started it once in Desktop mode.
Audio crackles and there are minor stutters as well, stutters may be from performance issues but it's hard to tell.
Game has micro stutters which barely affect performance but can be noticable in the shapes of the orbits and when launching planets.
Game was fully playable under linux via proton with only minor stutter and audio crackling. Normally audio issues this bad would make me not reccomend a game however the audio is not very integral to this game, just background music and it isn't unique music either, just classical music. If I find a fix for the issues here I will update my review with the fix.

The game performed well and I was able to play it mostly the same way I would on a normal PC with a gamepad. The only real minor annoyance is that in order to use mods a bit of tinkering is required otherwise all mods except the DLC will be broken and not be able to be activated. Adding the custom launch command listed in this review fixes that issue.
Besides that minor inconvience with mods this game performs amazingly on the deck and Linux in general with little to no issues whatsoever.
