Requires increasing memory mapper capacity in linux to avoid crashes during fast travel. Used Lutris to select the PROGL driver for more FPS
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=true
on AMD 5700 forced use of AMD-pro GPU driver from the Lutris Config dropdown... adds about 5 go 10 FPS
Turtle Beach XBOX ONE GamePad required special driver from github.com/xone
Was able to solve Crashes during Flew Flame Fast Travel with the following script in fakeroot to adjust the memory mapper to a larger size to allow the graphics card to stage and offload shaders in ram properly:
sudo sh -c "echo 1000000 > /proc/sys/vm/max_map_count"

run this command in a terminal window before launching the game and it shouldn't crash during fast travel.
I'm upgrading my motherboard to PCIe 4.0 to stop GPU bottlenecking and use "resizable bar"
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1
New Update that dropped tonight fixed a lot of performance issues. Also I removed old AMDGPU-PRO driver and went to straight MESA 22+ driver. Don't know which fixed the issue. Probably the update. GPU utilization in mangohud is now 99% instead of 33%. Go figure. This game will probably go Platinum soon.
Game Freezes if the turtle beach controller gets unplugged in the middle of vibration. doesn't happen with standard xbox controllers.
Floo Flame Crashes. This can be fixed by running the command:
$sudo sh -c "echo 1000000 > /proc/sys/vm/max_map_count"
in a terminal window before launching the game. This command increases the size of the virtualization maximum memory map size in linux. Has to be run whenever your system is restarted or after the system has been powered off.
only the Floo Flame crash
Black Screen ... To make game work Required enabling "hotfix_1.a" by participating in the beta version.
he hotfix is available through https://steamcommunity.com/app/1113000/discussions/0/2567564692457285298/
--dx11
protontricks 215280 -q --force d3dx9_43 d3dx11_43 d3dcompiler_43
Works better on full screen than windowed
in addition to: protontricks 215280 -q --force d3dx9_43 d3dx11_43 d3dcompiler_43 you need to choose older version proton 4.11-13 also in the compatibility you have to add the tag: --dx11...Dx9 crashes at launch.
If you love Heartstone but can't stomach supporting blizzard this is the game for you,
5.0.9 seems to run the game with the Vulcan API... looks pretty baddass even with AMD on the MESA drivers on POP-OS.
Proton 5.0.9 runs the games with the Vulcan API... looks great. No problems.
This is the best card game ever.
Had to use Proton 8.0-2 instead of native to get native XBOX Controller Support.
The New 2K Launcher is Broken in Native Linux. WOTC is still using the Feral Launcher and works fine.. Had to run XCOM2 base game under proton 8.0-2 to get the 2K Launcher to Launch. Game works without problems but loses about 20 FPS on MAX settings in proton at 2560 x1440.
Until Feral or 2K update their launcher to work on Arch Linux... there may be issues... but its probably a small fragment of their user base. I will log another report if I Upgrade my graphics card to 6700XT+
