I'd have trouble recommending it for competitive play in this state but I'm also on Arch so that's kind of my fault
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 DXVK_ASYNC=1 DXVK_FRAME_RATE 60 RADV_PERFTEST=gpl gamemoderun
AA (not TAA) causes significant drops; Blur effects (In-Game Menu, DOF) slowdown exaggerated as compared to windows; severe performance hit when not running with vsync (steam overlay shows 150+fps, vlk maxfps does not seem to affect this game (see launch options)); strange surging of fps, minor teleporting - seemingly unrelated to content on screen and would seem to not be caused by shader transpiling (my understanding is that once this is done once it does not need to be done again), almost feels like a clock issue
ASUS PCE-88 wasn't working on windows so i switched to linux and worked basically flawlessly (seems to be upset about MAC:IP mapping)
Wouldn't launch without afformentioned GE version, (I believe it was ProtonUp-Qt) [ARCH LINUX]
DXVK_ASYNC=1 DXVK_FRAME_RATE_LIMIT=60 RADV_PERFTEST=aco,gpl PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 PROTON_LOG=1 gamemoderun %command%
likely not required but i did it along the way and we're running now
i use pulse and easyeffects with about 100ms of possibly enabled filters. launching with the relevant option does remove the buffering issue (sounds like when you hold spacebar while on a youtube video). value should be adjusted to be as low as possible without artifacts as it does seem to introduce a noticeable latency.
Flickering on billboard props, z-fighting on horizon
if you experience game launching but black screen this may be caused because you effectively alt-tabbed while the game was launched in fullscreen. launching in windowed-borderless fixes this but it's possible you may need to edit game configs to revert the option.
Some post processing is significantly slower via vulkan than DX on windows, ie DOF/blurs when displaying menus in front of eg replay, shader compilation, WEATHER/NIGHT EFFECTS, some things are also faster, previously it was noticeably smoother than my windows installation except for during shader compilation noticeable eg when passing crowds... oh also crowds seem to be a bit poor... I'm going to try without the DXVK async as I think it may be the cause of out-of-order frames I have noticed in my streams (not noticeable during gameplay)
the fullscreen thing is pretty annoying, definitely try editing the game configs before reinstalling, make sure to create a backup of any game files you edit before doing so.
arch users should make sure to consult the wiki regarding steam installation as default dependency options are known to cause potential issues

For me the main thing seemed to be using the specific proton version, though I haven't been brave enough to go back and try checking with the others. I had a bunch of problems with dlls missing which was why I enabled the logging. You likely do not need this. The dll issue likely relates to old compatdata as my games are on a networked iscsi share and I had reinstalled arch several times in between.
FUCK and I cannot stress this enough, EA
I haven't tried the guide yet but im damn well gonna
