Followed instructions shown in this video for both Assetto Corsa and Content Manager set up.
Since it was my first time configuring GE Proton, I had to also grab ProtonUp QT. GE Proton 8.2 and 9.4 have worked for me. Content manager took a few additional steps, and once I got into the game, there were missing fonts that I had to throw into common/assettocorsa/content/fonts/system
.
Content manager menuing has some graphical and latency issues not solved with disabling hardware acceleration. Otherwise, the game runs perfectly fine on some modded tracks.
Menu navigation seemed to be at a lower framerate - I couldn't tell if this is an optimization problem or a design choice by Kunos.
I've launched the game in a single player practice mode on Suzuka East, and didn't seem to have any issues to that point. The game boots and seems to run, but I haven't tried with my Moza set up just yet.
I've made this report to let others know that the game boots and runs on Linux, but can't yet comment on performance and peripherals. It did detect my Xbox controller, however.
Worked perfectly without any tinkering. Moza R5 wheel and pedals functioned out of the box; just needed binding. No force feedback as of yet.
In contrast to other reports, this worked out of the box for me - audio and everything!
Actually runs a lot better than I thought in spite of all the comments online. The benchmark never made it past compiling shaders.
Very infrequently, vertices go flying and some monsters/objects turn into a garbled mess. Depends on the viewing angle, since moving around seems to resolve it sometimes.
Slowdowns transitioning between areas, frame drops in the beginning areas when out in the plains.
