Tinker Steps:Switch to older version: 5.0-10
Followed everyone's advice and forced proton 5.0.10. Worked flawlessly. Haven't tried the defeult proton.

No tinkering required. Just install Proton Easy Anti Cheat and run the game. Very good experience.

I have over 1500 hours at this game on Windows. It was the only reason I stuck to that OS. Now both my gaming rig and laptop are on Linux. I waited for this to happen for way too long. Thanks Crytek for updating EAC on the game :)
