Setting a resolution higher than 1280x720 causes the game to crash when loading the level
Game runs well, menus are rendered at 640x480. Nightmares expansion works as well. Mouse sensitivity may need to be increased a lot. Keep the resolution below 1280x720 and the performance is excellent.

Minimizes on starting and getting achievements
Having tried this on 20.04.4 with AMD Proprietry drivers, I ran into non-stop issues with Origin not wanting to install/run properly. Remembered I'd had better luck on a newer version of Xubuntu, so upgraded to 21.10 and installed steam. Used the upgraded Mesa drivers from the Lutris install guide for AMD (https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/InstallingDrivers.md), restarted and installed the game. Did not have to choose any compatability version, Origin installed and ran out of the box with the default Steam Proton version. Those having issues with Origin on an older version of Ubuntu, try a newer version of the OS. Not sure why but it seems friendlier to some of these problematic games.
