After installing game, use Protontricks from: https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.github.Matoking.protontricks to install into game proxy Uplay.
Run Uplay just after install (from installer menu) to let it update!
Stem won't be able to update it and launcher will hang. I am also running it with '-offline' flag.

I have removed prefix data from steam directories and replaced it with symlink to base HoMM7 prefix directory as described in a post under the link:

Launching with steam without tinkering would require another uplay installation. And first of all -> it would be separated from base HoMM7 instance.
Was unable to run it on Proton, even with options proposed on ProtonDB. But afret installing Steam Linux Runtime works fine.
The Runtime can be installed from Steam "TOOLS" menu.
