End of intro scene, beginning of character control, it crashes.
Messing with video or audio causes loss of control of the window and crashes
I've tried GE-Proton7-41, Experimental, Proton8.0-4 & Proton7.0-6... 7.0-6 is the one that allows it to load, play sound & intro scenes and gets me to the instant where we gain control of the character, then a window pops up and seems to be trying to load or refresh, but it has an ! on the window then it promptly crashes to desktop. I've not been able to get past this point to actually play the game at all. It's really too bad because the sound, cutscene and graphics sound & look great.
The game launched and ran flawlessly, hanging around 59 to 60 FPS for the full 1 hr & 49 mins of playtime today.
full screen to windowed & resolution changes caused the cursor to freeze. ALT TAB DEL to bring up the menu then clicking cancel unfreezes the cursor.
I launched the game with Proton 7.0-6 and it worked perfectly "out of the box" without any additional steps or tinkering.
Black screen with no sound.
I can get it to "launch" (a window opens) but it is a black screen. Switching Proton versions to anything else did nothing; it is still a fullscreen of black with no sound. Initially complained about missing compatability components like C++ shaders but says it downloaded them sucessfully. Closing the black screen is a hassle and a half & waiting for Linux to error out and ask if I want to close it seems to be the best available option for regaining control over my pc.
I still have not managed to get it to successfully launch... for me it is BORKED.
Used to run fine until Proton updated in Aug. '22 now it won't launch!
It started with a cloud save error and progressed to not launching anymore. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the game thinking the files just got corrupted, but no. I ran updates. No change. I've tried all of the following proton versions: 3.7-8, 3.16-9, 4.2-9, 4.11-13, 5.0-10, 5.13-6, 6.3-8, 7.0-3, Exprimental, G.E.: 5.21, 6.4, 6.8, 6.9, 6.10, 6.12, & 6.13 all to no avail. Steam says it's launching then playing but a game window doesn't pop up for me. It will hang for 5 to 20 minutes or more saying it's playing but no window. Eventually the play button turns green again. If anyone knows a fix for this issue, I'd really like to be able to play my game again. Thanks :)
