Tinker Steps:Set launch options
-nolauncher
Highly recommend updating '/etc/sysctl.conf' and adding 'vm.max_map_count=1048576' at the bottom. You can then either log out and log in, or run 'sudo sysctl -p' to reload the file manually. Playing without changing this value leads to a lot of crashes in areas with really high model counts, like the forested areas. -nolauncher just skips the obnoxious startup launcher.

If it seems like there's some skipping during intro and loading sequences, that's just the game, it's not a problem with linux. It does the same thing on Windows.
