Playable but with input issues.
Input:Controller Mapping
Directional input from controllers or keyboard did not work in menus but controller buttons do, had to use mouse to select menu options. Seems to be an issue on Windows native as well. Controllers worked correctly while in a race.

Overall (local):Good
The game experience is about the same on Proton as on Windows, it has the same bugs on both; AI getting stuck, clipping through scenery, controller input not working in menus, so overall it works "perfectly".
