Game requests you to choose a region: all regions are selectable but no "confirm" button or a ping number. cannot queue due to this
Tried proton GE, proton newest, proton 7, and proton 6, all broken
if you close the region select menu and try to queue it brings you back to the region select menu. I even used a friend to queue for me and when i did, it crashed as soon as the loading screen went away. Opening steam overlay crashes game and bring up this error message from the wine c++ runtime library: "!status && "vkqueuePresentKHR"". I have booted back into Windows 10 (i dual boot) and it worked on there.
I would not recomend debian unless you are a advanced user who can configure weird issues like ping range and stuff in the terminal.
Update for debian: if you are on debian, you will need to configure your ping range in the terminal, I haven't figured out how to fix it permanently
everything unlockable is marked as "new" so i have to clear notfications the first time on install. No lost prgress though
instant i killed a grunt game crashed.
Steam overlay crashes game
instant i killed a grunt game froze and crashed to desktop
switching to nobara in hopes of fixing my issues. Will post new review. wish me luck boys.
With steam overaly crashes, alt tab crashing the game during loading, and more, it has not been fun. Will keep trying.
gamemoderun %command%
I downloaded DirextX 11, not sure if it matters though
Crashes on alt-tab occasionally
Game marks everthing as new notifications and resets your settings. Make sure you disable motion blur and anti aliasing or else everything will be so blurry your eyes will hurt. Don't know why those are default settings.
with steam gobbling up 2 gigs of ram due to it being a electron app, on top of discord and hunt, if i open on browser tab i run out of RAM and then my system takes for ever to put stuff in swap
steam overlay and alt tabbing as mentioned earlier
If you crash beccause of one of the many issues, then you are screwed. Hunt showdown has terrible reconnection, both on windows and linux. It can take up to 20 minutes on any OS.
Note for new users: the launch option "gamemoderun %command%" activates gamemode. Your system may have it preinstalled. gamemode optimizes your computer for gaming and squeezes a bit more performance out. Mangohud (i do not have this enababled) is a tool that gves you statistics on how well your game is running, such as fps and cpu performance. ALSO this experience has not been all bad. BUT a 50/50 chance for haveing a smooth or terrible time is not okay. I have had days where i play for like 2 hours no issues. you just have to tread extremely carefully
You may have strange occasional issue, but in general all will be fixed by either updating your system or rebooting.
Must-have for linux: go into the graphics settings and choose the "borderless windowed" option for the game. that wa, the game looks fullscreen, but does not crash on alt tabbing.
Also, do not use touchpad gestures. it will instantly crash your game.
I would reccomend having a shared games drive or drive partition between a dual boot system if you are going to play hunt, other wise all notifications you look at with be considered "new" and your settings won't sync.
Follow this tutorial if you want to share a games drive and don't skip anything or you might miss something improtant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu68Snc2he0&t=0s
