Used it to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package".
Noticed "missing textures" on the ground in some places.
Poor launch and gameplay performance with Proton versions newer than 4.11. Launch performance improved with "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" launch options, but gameplay performance remained poor compared to using Proton 4.11.
The game wouldn't launch for me "OOB" because the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package wasn't installed correctly. Maybe removing and then reinstalling the game would have worked but I didn't try (it would have required downloading the game files again I am guessing). Instead I installed "protontricks" to install the "vcredist_x86_en.exe" present in the "Redistributable" directory among the game files. Also ran "DXSETUP.exe" from the "DirectX" directory, just in case it was also not installed correctly. Of course, in Windows I could have just double clicked those files. But in linux I had to run "protontricks 10880 shell", then had to "cd" to the "Redistributable" directory and then use the command "wine vcredist_x86_en.exe". By the way, I initially tried installing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package directly using "protontricks 10880 vcrun2008" but was getting a sha256 mismatch error on the downloaded file (tried twice).
Poor launch performance with Proton versions newer than 4.11. Didn't even try playing with the newer versions.
