gamescope -h 1080 -H 1080 --fullscreen --force-grab-cursor --steam --mangoapp gamemoderun %command%
Using a tiling WM, mouse and keyboard events other than mouse movement were not captured until gamescope was applied.
Opening cut scene choppy; world began to feel choppy after about half an hour of playtime.
As per usual, if using a tiling window manager, gamescope will be required.
gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 --fullscreen --force-grab-cursor gamemoderun %command% /autorun /autoquit
When first opening planetary or full-spectrum scanners, the pop-up tutorial cannot be advanced or closed via the mouse. The work-around was to repeatedly pause the game and spam where the "next" button will appear when cancelling the pause to register a click. The entire tutorial can be advanced through this way.
Similar to other games, if you're using a tiling window manager, you will most likely need to use gamescope. If you have multiple monitors, you may need the mouse capture flags.
Very few issues. I suspect the occasional slight lag may be resolvable by running on SSD rather than HDD.
Occasional slight lag when rapidly moving to a new area (likely zone loading).
Have had approximately one crash in ten hours; unclear it was Linux related (I have occasional crashes on Windows too).
Game had a content update during a play session, resulted in severe lag and rubberbanding. After it was complete and the game restarted, no issues again. The install/update gave no indications it was ongoing until the process completed.
Strong game, works really well once you get it running with few issues. Most system configurations unlikely to have any problems.
NOSTEAM=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamescope -h 1080 -H 1080 -f gamemoderun mangohud %command% -ignorecoherentgpucrash
On character select, could only select buttons in the corners of the screen (settings, exit) and nothing in the middle. On movement or click in the middle, mouse warped to bottom left. Resolved by using gamescope.
Resolved using gamescope.
Framerates low in busy areas, even with player rendering and textures turned down. Framerates as anticipated in areas with very few other players.
Occasionally crashes when exiting, unable to determine cause. Discord chat popups occasionally cause a hard freeze when they occur concurrently with a mouse-click; this is likely due to XWayland via Sway rather than the game itself.
On initial attempts to run the game, could not get it launched. Prior to login, received "Connection error detected" error message with no progress. This issue did not occur launching from terminal, nor Lutris. Was a system configuration issue -- if using systemd-resolved, need to ensure /etc/resolvd.conf is correctly setup with a stub as per https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Systemd-resolved#DNS
Most configurations, the game will likely work close to flawlessly with minimal to no tinkering. I did not try without the -ignorecoherentgpucrash flag, so I don't know if that issue has been resolved yet or not. NOSTEAM=1 or -provider Portal to use your non-steam account if you have played before. If you have a multi-monitor setup in a tiling window manager on Wayland (in my case, Sway), you may run into problems with your input device not correctly recognizing screen geometry, using gamescope can resolve the issue. If you're using systemd-resolved, you need to ensure your /etc/resolv.conf stub is setup correctly; even though it isn't required if installed through Lutris or run from the terminal, when using Steam to launch the game you will not be able to login otherwise.
Works 99% fine. Issues are all small and easily worked around.
Significant lag/hitching during mission loading. When operating as host, sometimes the party will drop during loading. Can be mitigated by running the mission prior as solo (likely caching data). Does not affect gameplay. Workaround: have someone else act as host or preload the mission solo.
Very rare crash (once every 10 hours or so). Unable to consistently replicate, unknown cause.
Occasionally teleporting (player or mobs). Still relatively uncommon, but still noticeably moreso than on Windows on same system/hardware. Minimal impact on gameplay.
