Game will usually run 1-2 two games before it begins to crash regularly. Restarting entire PC tends to fix this for about 2 more games, before the crashes return.
While getting it to work consistently is hacky (or it was for me) it was worth it in the end!
I found the game to crash very frequently. But I found a (very hacky) work-around:
Step 1: Install Battlerite via Steam+Proton.
Step 2: If you start to experience crashes that generate logs, check the logs.
If the error looks like the following you can continue. "Access Violation memory caused my mono.dll"
Step 3: Install battlerite via Lutris (Lutris is a competitor to Proton, but has severe performance issues with Brite compared to Proton)
Step 4: Steal the mono.dll file from Lutris's install and replace it in your Proton install.
You can find the mono.dll in the battlerite dir under /path/to/Battlerite/Battlerite_Data/Mono/mono.dll
There is probably a much better way to fix the issue, but due to the lack of player base, I have yet to find anything else that may fix it.
