If the game doesn't run smoothly with the native Linux version: try the proton/Wine one. For me it fixed all issues.
Tinker Steps:Switch to experimental, protonfixes
Started the game native. After texture and character flickerings I switched to proton where the game ran flawlessly.

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition
I had no crashes or major problems. However, given my slow hardware, sometimes the textures and LOD was cut down to very coarse versions. Also, in some scenes I experienced stutter during playing.
But again, I think most of these issues can be traced back to my hardware not being up for the task.
On the other hand: who would have thought that you could play a AAA game, non-natively on such an inadequate hardware and enjoy it?
