It's worth noting that, on my previous computer, the game had unexpected performance degradation, whereas the demo did not. It's only on my current PC that everything is as smooth as butter. All I can conclude from that is that the demo for this game is not exactly representative of the full game, performance-wise.

Just need to move the mouse cursor out of the way at the start.
Frame rate was a bit jerky and lower than it ought to be for this type of game, but still playable.

This report is for the demo.

I could only manage 30-43 FPS on low graphics settings. High settings took me down to 1 FPS. I only played for half an hour.

Steam Controller was unresponsive, and the default keyboard controls were not reliable, eg. just pressing W/↑ once would make the car go forward, and keep going forward. Esc didn't work, so I didn't find a way to get back to the menu. Ended up using Alt-F4 to quit the game.
It loaded fine and I got the Proton test video pattern as the menu background, so I suppose there's supposed to be a video playing there. That was with Proton Experimental and GE-Proton8-27.

I had the same experience with Proton as I did with GE, except GE detects and plays menu background videos and Proton does not.
I was able to reach max FPS with "ultra" settings with my old GTX 970, though the game limits FPS to 30 or 60.
Technically playable but no analog control support.

I found some texture pop-in to be a little distracting, so applied these changes.
Texture pop-in, as noted.
I tried HDR but it was too saturated.

The 'take all' feature, when examining bodies, wouldn't work from a keybind, only left mouse click. That may just be a problem with the game rather than Linux/Proton. Otherwise, it ran very well.
