Not working with newer versions
Works with Proton 5.0-10 but textures look blurry

Game not launch with Proton experimental / 6.3-5 / 5.13-6 Works with 5.0-10
If you are using a custom map, it is recommended that you switch to Proton version, otherwise you will lose textures
Local saves are not located in .local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/profiles/
How to locate ProtonGE mod's folder and profiles?
Mine is under /home/username/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/{227300}/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ but you can found it with locate command
227300 is a variable
Once you have your variable value located at .steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/{227300}
Run in your CLI: locate -i 227300 (locate is available through mlocate package in Arch repo)
This will display all folders matching with your variable. Then just try:
/home/username/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/227300/is not making changes/home/username/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/{227300}/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/works
PD: If you are better with CLI you can exclude results

It starts in window mode and when you change it, it crashes
