DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
The launch option is not needed, it's just to limit the framerate to 60fps. I have a 165hz monitor and running this older game at 165fps is overkill. The only other thing i did was to install a file that disables motion blur from PCGamingWiki(i hate motion blur) but that's entirely preference. Switching to proton experimental might not be needed, i just run every game on experimental and it hasn't given me an issue so far.
Runs perfectly with no issues, installing addons and maps from the workshop also works fine.
My keyboard layout is AZERTY but the layout in game is automatically QWERTY, it's no big deal though, i'm able to control the game just fine after changing the movement keybinds(i was already used to it because many games don't recognize keyboard layouts so it didn't bother me much)
I force Proton on every game i play, even native ones just in case. It probably works without proton though.
I didn't have to install GModCEFCodecFix but i changed beta in game properties to x86-64 - Chromium + 64 bit binaries
I'm able to play and move around for maybe a minute but then it crashes to desktop with a UE4 error
The game asked to install visual c++ runtime, once i did i could launch the game
Visual C++ was easy enough to install with protontricks, the graphics defaulted to notebook for some reason.
I tried the DX11 and DX12(which had even worse performance) version and tried multiple versions of proton including experimental .
Steam cloud saves carried over from when i played on windows crashed the game immediately upon trying to load it.
I had made a report earlier about the game being borked, i could not play it but unplugging my controller fixed it...
Visual C++ runtime 2022 needed to launch
Weird audio issue, it makes an item dropping sound randomly, unsure if it's a game bug
The game would crash to desktop with a UE4 error after a couple of minutes of play time while my controller was plugged in, fixed(?) when i unplugged the controller
Unbelievable that having a controller plugged in crashes the game, what's this game's issue with controllers...
Couldn't load a save from the cloud that was made on windows
I don't know why i kept troubleshooting after a long time of trying to make this game work, i got mad, but seeing that the crashes were from a controller being plugged in and not even using said controller made me even madder.
I launched the non-DX12 version if that matters.
This is not for everyone, a lot of issues and tinkering to make it work.
Some graphical issues where i could see out of bounds where there should be a solid wall, unsure if this issue is on windows as well as i loaded a save made on windows and never finished it.
Stuttering when loading level areas, nothing crazy as they're mostly inside elevators
The stutters are a little annoying but they're often in elevators so it doesn't really matter.
You might want to turn off bloom in the config file, it's way overdone in some areas, find the config file here:steamapps/compatdata/17410/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/EA Games/Mirror's Edge/TdGame/Config/TdEngine.ini
put it on read only after you've made changes.
As per what was said in other posts i didn't turn on physx, you can try with it on just to see though.
