I've read about others having controller issues but it worked perfectly for me so the devs has probably worked on it and improved the controller support.
Because of the low resolution some cards looked like they were shimmering and straight lines were pretty jagged needing anti-aliasing that was not available.
The game found my xbox one controller and steam deck "controller" but it only partially worked in the menus and not at all in the game. The game does not advertise controller support so I'm assuming they're working on it.
Lowered graphics options
When i made a custom controller profile to use mouse controls and then accidentaly touched a controller button it wouldn't switch back to mouse mode and only clicked the controller in the middle of the screen. A restart fixed it.
