Tinker Steps:Launcher: Heroic, Custom Proton: GE-Proton9-11
Previously the game worked perfectly, but the latest EAC update broke the Game on Steam. You will get kicked out of every game due to EAC errors.
However, the EGS version of the game does not seem to suffer from this issue, for whatever reason. Playing it via Heroic and Proton-GE works without getting kicked by EAC. Currently it is free on EGS until 8/29, so you can pick it up there.
