Issues:
- Takes a long time to switch from game to "hacking" mini-game;
- During which the sound freezes (get stuck in a loop, playing the same thing over and over);
- Sometimes slows down;
- It is possible to alt-tab between Bioshock and other applications
Worked out of the box with no tweaking on my machine
Once I played the game I have to close and re-open steam or else it doesn't start properly again.
Elden Ring fails to start sometimes.
More often than not, it fails to start, I have to choose the game from the library, click stop, and then start it again.
Closes before initial menu
Barely starts and closes, Couldn't see any initial menu or interact with it. I saw what I think is a paw as a cursor but other than that, nothing. I have tried some tinkering with the game, including installing it via steam and running through wine, but it behaved the same.
Stops responding on the first text screens.
I have tested several configurations, however none of them worked.
From all the methods I have tried to make it work, the only one which almost worked was to use the default settings with a few Launch Options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv %command% -d3d11
However it still freezes on the first screen.
I'm going to try with a newer Distro or Kernel soon.
Works perfectly even with some mods and hacks (I played Oblivion Lost as well as the vanilla game on Linux from start to finish ( resolution 1024x768 and higher was tested but as the game wasn't meant to be played in high res I decided to beat it on 1024x768)
Even the Gamepad (Xinput and 3rd Party Nintendo Switch controller) worked out of the box. Surprised me.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Requires tweaking but works well!
After some tweaking and following instructions on Linux Gamer foruns I was able to run the game very well.
