Works perfectly out of the box
You need to wait for a while for it to compile the shaders and everything. Just go do something else and be patient. After it everything works perfectly without tweaks.
The game is very fun to play with a friend and I couldn't find any issues after doing the tweaks.

With the protontricks tweak everything works perfectly. Without it it crashes on the character selection.
You need to have an EA account to play. Also need to add the other player as a friend on EA to play online. On manjaro xfce when you launch the game you'll have the EA launcher symbol in your panel bellow, clicking that you're able to open the launcher and add the friend (if you don't already have the launcher itself installed in some way on your machine).
On i3wm fullscreen was not easy to escape (common problem) but also very slow to start the game. Also the game keeps your mouse stuck inside the game even on window mode so if I have two tiled windows, the game and other one, I cant use the mouse on the other one. So the game needs its own workspace.
If you dont use i3wm or other tiling wm you probably wont have any issue running the game.
Game's amazing, recomended to play with friends.

I'ts an amazing game, very fun to play online with friends. Needs to activate proton forcibly but not any hard tweak need to be done to play
You need to force the use of proton by right click in the game > Properties > Compatibility > Check the box saying "force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool". I used proton experimental and it worked out of the box after updating the game to use the most recent windows version. (If you don't check the box you'll be using an older linux compatible version by default that doesn't let you play online).
Without tinkering you can open the menu, custom your character and play some old phases, but you wont have all the game. So you'll need to forcibly activate proton and install the newer windows version if you want to play the game completely or play it online.
The game is amazing, I really recommend it for anyone that want a game to play with a friend.
Compiling the shaders is slow but wait a little and its all great.
It's a very fun game to play. You just need to activate proton experimental to make the audio work. Without the audio it's boring.
The audio if you don't force the proton experimental simply does not work at all.

The game is amazing. If you download more skins you need to close and open the game again for it to load.
I'm still at the beginning of the game but it seems nice for an overlord fan. If you aren't it's probably meh.

The game is not in full HD by default. You need to add the launch options that I use to make it full HD since you can't change it inside the game. As far as I know this is not a linux issue but a problem of this game.
If you don't care about playing in full HD no thinkering is needed.
Default keybindings sucks
The default commands of this game, at least on the keyboard, sucks a lot, it's very bizzare and you'll need some time to get used to it.
I didn't played the game enough yet to say how good the game is, but I would not recommend it for anyone that is not really a fan of overlord. And even so, buy just when it's on sale.
Everything works out of the box.
I played all the game online with a friend using the Remote play together function of steam and everything worked perfectly.
I played the two players mode both on the same keyboard and everything worked perfectly.
Just install and run. Btw an important thing to know is that in this game ESC quits so do not press it.

I dunno if it's cuz I didn't played it for years, but my cloud backup didn't work so I needed to restart from the beginning. Apart from it, everything worked perfectly.
Game is old but is good and you can finish in a couple hours
You can just play without thinkering. I recommend all the "we were here" games.
