After "compiling shaders", getting to the Menu causes system to trip

Tried with different variations of Proton / Proton-GE. PC shutdown so hard I had to unplug it, hold the power down for ~30 seconds and only then it'd power up. Suspect the PSU trips overcurrent protection.
