Game runs on the Steam Deck, however I wouldn't recommend playing on the Deck due to the controls being very m+kb oriented
Launches as if native, no remarks
Cannot comment on the actual multiplayer functionality, as I believe my opponents were bots. But they connected smoothly and it worked without issue.
I haven't experimented with any of the multiplayer features, but the offline campaign works as expected
All works as expected, the battery life with the tweaks is insane, it can easily last multiple hours playing this
FPS to 45 and Max TDP to 3W
Issues that were present seem to also be so on Windows, so the experience should be equal
To make the voice recognition work added in one of the recent updates, I installed sapi
dll, the MS Speech API
Resolutions available did not contain the resolution of my monitor
There are a few bugs in the game still, like the SEP marker from the separation tool sticking around after usage, but this was also the case when I tried the game in Windows. Otherwise the game runs fine. But I recommend tinkering to get voice recognition to work, as it adds to the experience!
It's playable with an older Proton version, but the experience is far from smooth and nice due to heavy stutters
The mouse cursor flickers, and the text has some artifacts around the letter k
for example
Game stutters alot, and tends to freeze when switching between aircraft
Running the game on the latest Proton version was very unstable for me, and I wasn't able to get past the main menu. The game kept crashing when trying to load in a level. Proton Version 7.0-6 was the latest version where I was succesfully able to boot into the game, but the game does not run smooth, suffering from stutters and freezing, a flickering mouse cursor, and artifacting around certain letters. It's fine if you really want to play this on Linux, but the native experience is still far ahead.
Following the steps in t0rg's report (Proton Experimental Bleeding Edge), you can get the game to run
T.Flight Rudder pedals are detected in 'car' mode but not 'plane' mode
TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition and TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition work just fine
With Steam Recording on, I'd get a popup saying there was an error with recording, and my game would freeze. Turning this off made the game more stable to me.
The !status &&vkCreateGraphicsPipelines
error dissapeared after following the steps from t0rg's report, and the game seems playable as I can load in free flight and load into career.
For the video that does not repeat, check this comment on Github for a fix. But do know that it's not essential for the game to run: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8255#issuecomment-2499199265
Game runs nicely as long as AMDVLK is installed
As noted by seqv, vulkan-radeon
is required to run the game with AMD graphics. On openSUSE, this would be AMDVLK. Be sure to have it installed, or the game will launch into a black screen, and show a bug reporter straight after.
Game runs out of the box, but has issues with sliders (e.g. the audio sliders in the settings and the amount you're betting).
Missing font(s), and infinite loading screen when trying to start a game
On startup, a notification pops up, but the text isn't visible. Agree with Solarisfire, probably a missing font issue. Also, placeholder text in the options as Solarisfire described.
When trying to start the game I have the same issue as ali4z and Garnet, seemingly infinite loading screen.
