The audio is so quiet that it may as well be slient. If you turn the Steam Deck's volume all the way up, you can just barely hear it but it's not loud enough to be useful in any way. I've tried with multiple versions or Proton, the built in speakers and Bluetooth headphones and haven't been able to get it working.
Go into Desktop mode, click the volume icon in the task bar and turn the "Echo Cancel-Sink" slider all the way up.
Initially it was extremely quiet to the point of being inaudible.
When I initially installed the game on my Steam Deck and launched it, it seemed that the audio wasn't working at all. If I turned the Deck's volume all the way up and put my ear next to the speaker, I could just barely hear it. I was able to fix this by
- Switching to Desktop Mode
- Clicking the "volume" icon in the task bar
- Turning the slider for the "Echo Cancel-Sink" device all the way up
- Switching back to game mode and relaunching the game.
Now audio (and everything else) seems to work flawlessly. It runs great at the default "High" settings and you can even turn it up to "Ultra" and maintain 60fps during gameplay most of the time.
