Unlike other users, I had to force use of an older version of proton to be able to launch the game. Once I switched to proton 4.11, the game ran just fine.

In this state, the game is technically playable. I play on low settings and have no framerate issues.

Other users have reported that the game accasionally hangs on the initial loading screen. I have not had this issue. However, after death, I cannot load back into the game to respawn. The game is not frozen or slowed so far as I can tell, as I can read as many of the tool tips as I wish. The loading bar simply never fills and I must force quit and relaunch the game in order to respawn.
I suppose I just should't die. Ever. lol
