Wallpaper Engine
Tinker Steps:Launcher: wallpaper engine for kde/
No need to run Wallpaper Engine through Steam directly—it's now integrated into KDE/Plasma.
Here’s how to get it working:
Right-click on your desktop.
Select "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper" (or just "Wallpaper").
Under Wallpaper Type, choose "Wallpaper Engine for KDE".
⚠️ Important: You must already have Wallpaper Engine installed via Steam for this option to work.
After switching from Windows (or “Winblows”) to Bazzite, I simply pointed the KDE plugin to my existing Steam install of Wallpaper Engine. It instantly recognized and loaded all the wallpapers I used back on Windows—including video and HTML/JS ones.
The only exception was some custom wallpapers I made myself in HTML/JS, which weren’t uploaded to Steam. Those didn’t show up automatically, but everything else worked flawlessly.
Once the setup is done, your animated, video, and web-based wallpapers should work exactly like they did on Windows—no extra setup or tweaks needed.
Hope this helps someone else making the switch! 🎉
