It seems that there is a chance that the ea desktop will not start after the update.The solution is to remove ea destop which can be found in "/home/YOUR_NAME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1237970/pfx/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/",then verify the integrity to reinstall ea desktop, and then you may be able to enjoy it.
