I don't think the typical gamer would be willing to make one configuration outside of creating an accunt.
Needing to switch the game from "native" to proton so I can play it.
Native version is borked, proton fixes it.
Download game (do not launch it), download Ubisoft Connect from them, rename the downloaded file "UplayInstaller.exe" and replace the one that downloaded through steam in the (game library file path)/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Assassin's Creed Syndicate/Support/Software, run the game & wait for Steam to install Ubisoft Connect & all related files. Game will launch without issue after accepting configuration prompts.
Install game via Steam (don't launch it); Download Ubisoft Connect Installer; Replace UplayInstaller.exe with the Ubisoft Connect one in the /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Assassin's Creed Syndicate/Support/Software directory; Launch game and let Steam finish the installation.
Video lags and falls behind audio in cutsceens
Using Steam Remote Play with a sufficent system results in a perfect handheld playing experence.
Game runs as expected out of the box.
So long as they get past the initial secondary launcher on Deck, game runs as if though it's on Windows.
Needed to press the 'steam' button and navagate to the 'resume game' option to get to the secondary launcher window to press "let's go" to allow it to finish its operations.
WARNING: I didn't play long with others beyond being able to join a random lobby.
Played multiplayer with a friend in the same LAN, no issues.
