The game runs fine without any tinkering. It takes a while (~10 seconds) to start, but i don't know if it's a problem with the original game or with proton. It also takes a while to restart after each death (~7 seconds). Again, i don't know if it's something from the original game, but the gameplay itself is flawless, pretty much native.
