Love this game. Absolutely no issues playing on Linux. I haven't tried any of the custom tracks, images or mods available.
Recommended for use on Linux. Yet to try mods and customisations - I haven't tried these as these can usally cause issues on Windows OS.
Works out of the box with no tinkering or settings changes required.
