Only lags in between switching say from Game to Settings, about 5-10 second window.
Crashed when Alt + Tabbing, can be fixed if Alt + Enter to change viewing from either Windowed to Full-screen or vice-versa.
Proton 5 & 6 would often black screen with just audio and the view window trick mentioned above helped very seldomly. In 7 the only bug I can say I've had is the Alt + Tabbing.
Fix the shift + tab issue that recently occurred within the past 2 weeks and I'd play this game all day.

Upon using "Shift + Tab" or any interface that interacts with steam overlay, it crashes the game completely. This goes for buying items in game to trading as well.
Game unstable, initial blackscreen or crash at menu

nVidia users cannot have mesa-vulkan* installed else the game will show the initial screen then load up a fullscreen, blacked out window; sometimes if you're lucky you'll crash at the menu. Black screen is from a hang that's occurring while the crash on the menu isn't recorded as an error of any sorts. On first ever launch with proton experimental the game actually loaded fully, it wasn't until after I started having these issues.
My only lead right now after debugging Vulkan and adding a shared object to /usr/lib/ as my libGLX (Called by /usr/share/vulkan/ic.d/nvidia*) was located in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/. After adding that, removing mesa, and checking vulkaninfo was I able to remove most of the errors and have Vulkan recognize my RTX 3060. There's still a single warning I'm debugging but I believe this issue is now a proton related one.
If you have the right configuration before launch then this game will be quite enjoyable, great work on a gold rating.
PS4 controller not being recognized outright by Elden Ring though detected in Steam
Sometimes black screens on boot.
I had recently released a contribution where the game wasn't playable, to circumvent this make sure you update to the latest nVidia drivers, in my case I had gone from 495 to 510 by adding the graphics ppa. Prior tweaks are still being used such as linking libGLX nvidia shared object to /usr/lib/ and removing any mesa-* drivers as it borks the nVidia Vulkan ICD.
Running vulkaninfo and nvidia-smi to ensure no significant errors is key and after the driver upgrade the game began to run smooth as butter.
