As long as you disable the UI, the game runs great. Hopefully the fixes for this will be added to Proton soon.

Performance:Slight Performance Problems
The UI causes very big performance hit, either you can lower all graphics and keep the UI or you can disable the UI completely and play at windows like framerate (CTRL+H and F9)

The Culling
Runs great with proton, better than native
The game is dead, servers have long been shut down, but it's still playable either offline with bots or in offline arena mode. Runs pretty much as on windows with no performance issues. I miss this game, good to play once it a while for nostalgia reasons.
