I think that the game is in a playable state, with only minor problems (that can be ignored).
There was glitched coloration on parts of the characters in the inventory screen, which looked like an odd static - mainly white, but with colored dots.
Me and one friend tried out the multiplayer. It worked as expected.
I was using Vulkan mode, rather than Dx11.
With the caveat that it might not be 100% stable. Experiment with different proton versions for best results.
A crash at the end of the game session.
I admittedly did not test its online mode, but the game runs perfectly out of the box.
It seems that this game has some problems with input detection. Xbox One controller.
Runs perfectly fine as it stands.
There is/was a little bit of stutter while playing. Turning off vsync helped, but didn't completely fix the problem.
Just be mindful of the potential controller issue. You may need to have two gamepads ready to connect to it.
Without a controller added, it'd constantly input W and A (left and up). With one added, it inputted the same on controller port 2. I had to connect two controllers to make the issue go away. The problem was significant enough to hinder any form of gameplay until I could fix it.
In short, while the game runs fine, I can't say that it will be a reliable, stable, or bug-free experience.
Though only during turn based mode, the mouse became 'heavy' to move.
Upon loading one specific zone of the game, the game will not proceed. It goes to 69% loaded, then becomes stuck there.
One thing. UMM. To get it working,
mono UnityModManager.exe
and
winetricks corefonts tahoma
.
You also need to browse to the correct place where the game is installed from the GUI of UMM. From that point, you can install and use mods as normal.
After Proton Experimental updated, I can now confirm that the game is fully functional Chapter 1, 2, and 3. Great job, Proton devs.
Using command protontricks 895870 d3dcompiler_47 I was able to get the game running.
Specifically the mouse input. Gamepad input had no issues, but mouse input was really laggy and stuttery.
From a stable and smooth 144 to about 120 frames, dipping as far below as 80 frames per second. Still 100% playable, but I could feel the performance loss.
